Commissioning and Training of Oil Spill Response Equipment in Colombia

Effective oil spill response is essential for protecting the environment and ensuring safe operations in the energy sector. Lamor provided OCENSA’s technical team with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the equipment’s advanced capabilities and how to enhance their emergency preparedness and response efforts.
Lamor Colombia recently visited the facilities of Oleoducto Central de Colombia (OCENSA) to commission the Oil Spill Response (OSR) systems delivered in January. As Colombia’s leading crude oil transportation company, OCENSA operates the country’s most extensive pipeline infrastructure, spanning both land and offshore areas.
The commissioning process was an excellent opportunity to share technical knowledge with OCENSA’s team, helping them make the most of Lamor’s equipment. Designed for superior performance, efficient transportation, and greater capacity than conventional solutions, Lamor’s OSR systems offer a significant advantage in oil spill response. The session focused on best practices for deployment, maintenance, and optimization to ensure maximum readiness.
During the visit, Lamor’s Head of Training and Technical Support shared expert insights on emergency preparedness and response strategies. By leveraging Lamor’s decades of expertise in oil spill response, OCENSA strengthens its ability to mitigate environmental risks and uphold its commitment to safe and sustainable operations. This collaboration reinforces both companies’ dedication to protecting Colombia’s natural resources while ensuring the highest standards in spill prevention and response.
