Inauguration and Naming Ceremony of Jawar 31 Vessel in UAE

Jawar 31 Vessel ceremony 3

Lamor was invited as a partner of Jawar Al Khaleej (JAK) to participate in the inauguration ceremony of JAWAR31 at Albawardy Damen Shipyard in UAE. Both JAK as well as Damen are long term partners of Lamor.

The Jawar 31 is a State-of-Art Search and Rescue (SAR) / Environmental Vessel. The Vessel is a part of a 20-year contract between Jawar Al Khaleej L.L.C. (JAK) and the Iraqi Ports Authority to establish and operate a Search, Rescue and Environment Centre based in Basra. In cooperation with the government-owned General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI). The state-of-the-art centre and its vessels will bring new capabilities in search and rescue, oil spill response to Iraqi waters.

Iraq’s coastline is just 58 kilometres in length, it is extremely busy with around 80% of Iraq’s oil exports departing from the Al Basra Oil Terminal. This is the reason the SAR/Enviormental Centre has been established to boost the Oil Spill Response Capabilities

The Jawar 31 is fitted with Oil Spill Radar, IR cameras and Lamor Heavy Duty Booms (HDB1500/250) on four reels, Lamor Multi Skimmer Package (LMS70) along with power packs, Lamor Emergency Off-loading Pumping System (GTA115 SS) and the dispersant system. Jawar 31 has an Oil Recovery Tank capacity of 1000m3. In addition, Lamor did the integration engineering, vessel inspection to advice JAK how to convert the vessel into a state-of-the-art Oil Spill Response Vessel. LAMOR is also providing an extensive training program that will be executed when the vessel is at site in Basra.

We hope that our support will lead to extended cooperation with JAK as this is phase 1 in for the SAR/Environment Centre in Basra.

Our delivery was done in less than 3 months door to door showing Lamor’s excellent capability to mobilize fast when needed.

Thank you for all the hard work done by the team for this project.
