Bilbao exercise Dec 2024 6

Lamor recently conducted critical activities as part of its Operational Excellence Program in Preparedness and Oil Spill Response in A Coruña and Bilbao, Spain. The initiative, led by a team of expert responders and supported by local authorities, focused on enhancing emergency readiness through training, evaluations, and practical drills.

Lamor had the opportunity to carry out activities related to the Operational Excellence Program in Preparedness and Oil Spill Response in A Coruña and Bilbao, Spain. These activities were led by Lamor top Oil Spill Response experts. Through a combination of training, evaluation of response capabilities, technical advice, and practical exercises, we made significant progress toward achieving the program's long-term goals. These objectives extend globally to various terminals and petrochemical complexes.

As part of this initiative, Lamor also participated in a major emergency drill at the maritime terminal of the Port of Punta Langosteira, La Coruña. This exercise is part of the annual training practices that the complex carries out within its security policy.

The drill involved over 100 participants and aimed to train terminal personnel in responding to general emergencies while coordinating actions with multiple entities. Key participants included the Port Authority of A Coruña, the Maritime Captaincy, the A Coruña and Arteixo Fire Departments, the Galician Coast Guard, the Technological Institute for the Control of the Marine Environment (Intecmar), and the Galician Emergency Agency (Axega).

During the drill, maritime protection measures were tested, including emergency detection, deployment of mobile response units, and the installation of containment barriers around the pontoon. These efforts verified the effectiveness of the complex's emergency response plans, such as the Interior Emergency Plan (PEI) and the Maritime Interior Plan (PIM), while ensuring alignment with the plans of the Port Authority of A Coruña, the Maritime Captaincy, and other emergency services.

These activities are conducted to enhance emergency preparedness, improve oil spill response capabilities, and ensure effective coordination between stakeholders to protect the environment and critical infrastructure, and we are proud to be part of these important initiatives.
