Oil Spill Response Exercise in Punta Arenas, Chile

Ensuring rapid and effective action during an oil spill is vital for safeguarding marine environments. Regular response exercises play a key role in testing equipment, training teams, and strengthening collaboration with local authorities, all essential elements for minimizing environmental damage when an incident occurs.
In the middle of March Lamor conducted an Oil Spill Response (OSR) exercise at Muelle Mardones, Punta Arenas, in the presence of the Chilean Maritime Authority.
During the simulation, we deployed containment booms to prevent the spread of hydrocarbons and carried out a recovery demonstration using our MM12 Skimmer, a highly efficient piece of equipment designed for oil spill cleanup operations.
These exercises are crucial for enhancing preparedness and response capabilities in environmental emergencies, reinforcing our commitment to protecting marine ecosystems.
