To enhance operational efficiency and safety, a comprehensive equipment training and deployment program was conducted for an Inflatable Light Oil Boom system supplied to Cenit. The training included both theoretical and practical aspects, plus demonstrations and deployment of the boom. Those involved included representatives from various participating organizations. This collaborative effort aimed to improve environmental protection and emergency response preparedness.

In late July, Lamor delivered a neoprene Inflatable Light Oil Boom (ILB) to Cenit in Buenaventura. The project also included training in the maintenance of various items of Lamor OSR equipment. The Inflatable Light Oil Boom supplied is a lightweight and durable air inflatable boom ideally suited for the challenging demands encountered in harbours, ports, nearshore and offshore environments.

The two-day activities involved personnel from Cenit, local authorities such as DIMAR, local contractor Masa Stork, and personnel from local risk management entities and firefighters. More than 60 people participated in the training sessions over the two days.

On day one the theoretical session was held at the auditorium of the Buenaventura Port Authority. In addition, the participants got to train and familiarize themselves with other Lamor OSR equipment available on-site including different skimmer systems and pumps.

During the second day the activities were conducted at the warehouses of Consorcio Masa Stork and at the Port Authority's shipping area in Buenaventura. The participants received hands-on training for the operation and maintenance of the ILB supplied, deployment and retrieval of the boom, and training on the operation and maintenance of Canflex floating tanks.

Lamor’s training has helped to ensure that all participants can effectively operate and maintain the ILB, which is essential for controlling oil spills and protecting the environment. It also fostered collaboration among various stakeholders, enhancing overall preparedness and response capabilities.
