OPRC (IMO) Level 1 and 2 Training for Oil & Gas, Port, Mining, and Fishing Sectors in Lima, Peru
Lamor recently conducted OPRC (IMO - International Maritime Organization) Level 1 and 2 courses in Lima, Peru, aimed at enhancing the safety of oil spill response activities, and preparedness for companies in the Oil & Gas, port, mining, and fishing sectors. The course provided participants with critical skills and knowledge which will enable them to manage oil spills and environmental hazards more effectively.
Participants engaged in real-time simulations, modelling workshops, and desktop simulations, gaining practical experience in dealing with potential marine pollution incidents.
The hands-on training, held onboard an Oil Spill Response Vessel (OSRV) outfitted with Lamor's specialized equipment, provided participants with five days of engaging and immersive learning sessions.
This type of training is particularly important because these industry sectors are prone to oil spills and environmental accidents which may cause damage to fragile ecosystems and economic activities. By equipping companies and personnel with the skills and tools to respond effectively, Lamor helps minimize risk, ensuring better preparedness and environmental protection in these critical industries.
