Sherif’s career journey: Lamor is a place to grow and thrive

Since joining Lamor in 2021, my journey has been quite interesting. Initially, I took on the role of project control engineer for a multi-year environmental protection initiative in Saudi Arabia. That project not only shaped my skills but also led me to manage it for an interim period. Today, I proudly lead Lamor’s service projects portfolio, overseeing our start-up and mobilisation team.

Lamor is truly a pioneer in the global environmental industry. With a constant drive to grow and open new markets, the company is evolving. Before joining Lamor, my academic and professional journey took me from Egypt to Qatar, and eventually to Europe. After earning my bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, I worked in Qatar before deciding to pursue a master’s degree in Germany. A surprise twist came when I discovered that the first year of my program would actually take place in Finland then to Germany, where I specialized in cost control and contract management. That unexpected move not only enriched my education but also introduced me to life in Finland.

Finland offers a peaceful lifestyle while the long, dark winters can be challenging, they add to the charm of this beautiful country. And of course, being married to a Finnish lady, I must say they are the best people in the world 😊!"
