Floating oil storage tanks and barges
Towable Floating Oil Storage Tanks (LFT)
The Lamor Floating oil storage tanks and barges fulfill the basic need to temporarily store recovered oil on site, whether it would be on land or sea. The durable floating storage tanks are highly flexible for storing recovered oil in remote locations and environments.
“These towable storage tanks and fabric barges are ideal to meet mandatory storage requirements for OSROs with very low annual maintenance costs.”
How it works
The LFT C-type bladders are durable floating storage tanks designed for the temporary storage of recovered oil. The tanks are mainly intended for use at sea as a towable storage bladder, and can also be used on land. The LFT C-type bladders are manufactured from oil and fuel resistant fabric with a PU/PVC coat. The entire manufacturing process involves only welding, therefore, offering a much stronger alternative to glued or sewed storage bladders. All fittings used in the composition ore marine-grade aluminum. Each bladder comes equipped with a tow harness for connection to the reinforced nose cone, PVC ball valves, light holder and nose cone air bladder. For safety, a pressure relief valve is fitted as standard. The towing speed when fully loaded is 6 knots and 12 knots when empty. A unique feature of the LFT C-type tanks is the availability of an optional specialized discharge point that has been designed to accept the range of Lamor GTA pumps for easy offloading.
The LFT U-tanks are durable floating oil bladder (storage tank) designed for the temporary storage of recovered oil. The tank’s low draft makes it ideal for temporary storage in confined areas such as estuaries, rivers and salt marshes. If access to the shoreline is not possible from the sea, an LFT U-tank can be deployed and filled on the beach, if the ground is even and level. Lamor offers a range of tanks, with storage capacities from 5-100 m3 (176.6-3531 ft3). The tanks are manufactured from oil and fuel resistant PVC- coated polyester. Depending on the operational requirements, the oil bladder can be towed alongside or behind a ship. The tanks can be deployed manually and be ready to use in less than five minutes. Each tank comes equipped with a tow harness for connection to the reinforced nose cone. The towing speed when fully loaded is 5 knots and 8 knots when empty.
